I'm intrigued by the idea of building a SOF kayak, and enjoying
reading all the material available here. I have a question
(generated by the Home Depot flyer in the paper yesterday!): Is
engineered lumber appropriate for SOF kayak construction? It would
seem much easier to find straight, knot free 18" boards if so, but I
have no idea how this stuff responds to bending or steaming or if its
characteristics are compatible with boat building. Any opinions
gratefully appreciated!
Regards,
Mike N.
