I'm at South Pole where the altitude is over 10,000 most of the time, I
did some steam bending this last winter and it turned out pretty well,
my problem occurred after the fact with a relative humidity of less then
3%.

   Did mine at 4800 ft, didn't have any more than the usual amount of
trouble.
