Do you mean non-traditional Greenland (Sea Rider) vs non-Traditional Aleut (
Akun).
If so, the answer is yes. I haven't built a traditional Greenland, so I am
not qualified
to compare traditional vs non-traditional.
The Greenland is definately easier to build than the Baidarka, though
neither configuration
is difficult. The Sea Rider (Greenland) has little space available for gear
storage. The Baidarka
( Akun ) will be faster due to hull shape and waterline, but that's really
of little consequence in
normal paddling. Due to greater displacement, it will carry much more gear.
Take a look at the Sea Tour 17-R in the manual. It's a single chine like
the Sea Rider, but with greater displacement. Though designed as an aluminum
folder, it can just as easily be built as a wood SOF non-folder.

No, Stability is not an issue with any of these boats, though in rough water
conditions the Greenland hulls will produce a wet ride as they are so narrow
and shallow.
