Subject: [baidarka] Footwear?

Hi,
Just building myself a Greenland-style boat, and want to keep the masik as low
as possible so it has an elegant profile.
The limiting factor seems to be getting into the boat, when my kneecaps tend
to stick at the masik if it's too low.
I notice that getting in with bare feet gives me an extra half inch or so of
clearance, compared with wearing any kind of footwear with a thick sole.
Can anybody with experience of shallow Greenland hulls advise me on what kind
of footwear works best for them?
Thanks, in anticipation.
Yours,
Bill
