I think that's the stuff sold as DWV (Drainage Waste Venting) cell core
pipe. The stuff is pretty easy to shape with a bit of heat from a hot air
gun (for example, to seal the ends, or to help shape it into an ellipse).
I've bought some 4" at Home Depot or Lowes for something like $.60 a foot.
I use it for fishing rod cases, etc.
