Might I recommend duckworks? It's an on-line boat builders magazine and
Chuck carries plans for other builders. He is a great guy and honest. I
don't normally plug for people but I have had some great service from
his chandlery and his prices are hard to beat. And he publishes articles
from home builders too.

A friend of mine sells some simple skin-on-frame kayak plans. It's not
very traditional, using plywood, epoxy and dacron fabric, but it makes
a nice boat for beginners.
He recently mentioned that he wanted to increase sales of his plans
and wondered where to advertise. Does anyone have any ideas?
He currently sells 3 or 4 sets of plans a month, which actually seems
pretty good to me. He used to advertise in "Messing About in Boats".
Are there some other newsletters or magazines he could put
advertisements in?
