Bill,
I have several of hoof knives (because we have 9 horses at home) and I have
the
farrier sharpen them everytime he comes to shoe the horses. He uses
something made
especially for the job. Horses being almost as ubiquitous as boats, there
must be
a farrier near you who can point you in the right direction.
BTW, I don't actually use the hoof knives on the horses, just for the odd
woodwork project.
