I've never skinned a boat with it, but I bought some to make a cockpit
cover. It's tough and made to be impervious to outdoor conditions, but it
has almost no "give". Most fabrics will stretch to some degree on the bias
(diagonal), this one no. I think you'd have a hard time stretching it
around irregular shapes in a neat fashion. Also, since it won't melt like
nylon, you'd have to find some way to keep the edges from raveling before
you seal it with waterproof coating.

That said, I know there are folks out there skinning boats with various
types of canvas, hopefully they'll chime in. Sunbrella probably qualifies
as a good one, being durable yet fairly lightweight.

Seattle Fabrics (www.SeattleFabrics.com) will send samples or small yardage
if you want to test it yourself.
