I really do like John Petersons baidarkas. They are beautiful boats. That is where I got the idea of lowering the rear deck.
Much respect to the British tradition of sea kayaking. I had the oportunity to see a presentation by Sean Morley. (nice guy) He showed a ton of pics from all around the UK. I didn't realize kayak was such a big sport there. I know different now. Must kayak there some day.

It has a lowered rear deck, and to my eye it's tastefully done. A nice
compromise between historical authenticity and the requirements of a modern

My only comment would be that Warren inaccurately labels a Werner paddle as
"the British paddle", and I (as a Brit) would like to point out that it's
North American through and through! We Brits like our lolly sticks too!
