I share much of your views, yet I'm still intrigued by understanding why
things happen. I'm sure your dad did not provide you with an arch you
could not handle, an arrow that was unappropriate, a target that was
beyond your limits.

Think of how much thought has gone in traditional composite (sinew etc)
bow making.

Then I agree that practice suggests nuances that thought will never
tell, and that one of the main benefits in kayaking (for me) is draining
thoughts and leave the mind in a drifting state...wonderful feeling.
