Subject: [baidarka] Archive of Mailing list now available
A while back I asked whether there was any interest in an archive of the
Baidarka mailing list.
I received several helpful replies. In particular, Kirk Olsen pointed
out that the complete archives are available as files from the MajorDomo
server. ("get baidarka baidarka.9805" for example).
Using these files I have created a searchable and browsable index at:
http://rtpnet.org/robroy/baidarka/
Other suggestions included sorting by predefined category, but using
off-the-shelf software I can't sort the mail into specific categories.
Another suggestion was to censor the email addresses from the archive to
deter "spammers" from harvesting the addresses. For myself, I'd prefer
to take that risk and have my email address included. If anyone feels
strongly about this, however, email me and I'll try to figure out how to
mask your address in particular.
I'm using Hypermail to create the HTML files, and Swish to index them.
You can search with Boolean expressions like "and" and "not", or go to a
particular month and read mail sorted by date, author, or thread.
