Let's try again. The flow is normal to the paddle power face. The chord is not
normal to the flow. You are using the width of the power face instead of the
thickness in determining the AR.

You keep insisting that the paddles are not used like this. I still cannot see how
you feel that this is so true. I look at dragon boat paddlers, racing canoeists
and kayakers and see paddles used nominally normal to the flow.
