Kirk, i can really relate to your "pfd removal test"! happy the day when I
dozed off in the late afternoon sun while floating in the middle of an
inland lake, surrounded by eagles. And Heron didn't dump me!

upright without a paddle in the water. I've gotten accustomed to 2 of my
boats that I used to need to keep a blade in the water at all times. One is
still touchy. With my 17" beam surf ski I'm now comfortable enough in that
in flat water I can take off my pfd and coat, then put the pfd back on,
without rafting up. While that may not seem like much of a feat it took me
2 years to get that level of balance and comfort. I don't think I can do
the same garment change in my 19" beam Dyson 5.7 baidarka, with the seat in.

concluded that my wrong turn was that I forgot the sea otter that I was
supposed to carve into the front stantion.
