This reminds me of a hand built I saw hanging from the ceiling of the
Ecomarine shop in Vancouver around 15 years ago. On asking about it, I was
told it was made on site as a demonstration of SOF techniques by a visiting
Scandinavian builder who insisted that nothing went into his boats that
couldn't be eaten. Lotsa roughage in that lumber I imagine! The skin was
woven flax -- ie: linen -- but I have no idea what, if any, waterproofing
was employed. I tried writing to Ecomarine about it a few years ago, but
no one there then could recall anything about the boat or its construction
details. Does this story sound familiar to anyone on the list? It would be
very interesting to know more about the builder's methods and materials.
