Hi Douglas,

I have had several e-conversations with Craig Keller who build the 'Sea Quill',
his version of the modified Shields design. The last time I checked, he was still
doing his post-doc, pre-career world traveling in China. He mentioned that he has
found a lot out about the Sea Quill design since he announced it on the list. I
assume he will return at some point and I'll continue the conversations.

Having built your baidarka from aluminum tubing, what would you say to making the
same boat from wood? I'm moving away from the plastic frame ideas and stainless
steel tubing seems a bit of overkill (heavy too).

How goes your modified Shields?

Best Regards,
