The US Naval Institute (I believe they're a private, non-profit organization) has a huge library of photos relating to ships and the US Navy. Among them is this photo of gunnery practice using target kites. This same photo was used in the 2nd Edition of the training manual at the end of Chapter Four.
However, unlike all the other archival material on this website I was able to purchase a photographic print and scan this image at high-resolution, 300 dpi, making it potentially suitable for printing on glossy paper and framing.
