Since most of you are already familiar with the BHS, I thought I'd
mention the presence of another group dedicated to aficionados of
the skin boat. I'm not sure about the status of this group (NWCS)
but I believe it was the brainchild of Wolfgang Brinck and Bob
Boucher (he offers classes where you get to build your very own
canvas over wood frame West Greenland replica--in about a week!)
Anyway--looking for the Aleut Kayak Construction book I ran
across this brochure for joining the NWCS. For those who might be

There was talk of a summer 1995 gathering in conjunction with the
North American kayak exhibit at the Kenosha Public Museum on
Lake Michigan. Perhaps someone knows more? Oh, sorry about the
misinformation regarding B. Dalton and Wolf's book.
