Now that is an interesting idea, sinking the frame stern first into the skin. With my counterpart to this, the "Last Chance" Design, I had inserted the frame bow first and got a lot of trouble closing off the stern. Of course with an upswept bow there was no other chance. Here is an impression of the stem insertion process and here is how I closed off the stern. Of course, that was my last attempt at this. All my following baidarkas were assembled within a closed skin. This is more watertight and in the end not so much more complicated. Matter of preference.
